Step-by-step procedures, complete material checklists, and devotional guidance for over 50 Hindu poojas — in English and Telugu.

Before You Begin

Cleanliness

Bathe and wear clean, preferably freshly washed clothes before performing any pooja. The pooja space should be swept and clean.

Facing Direction

Face east or north while performing pooja. The deity should be placed facing west or south so you face them from the east or north.

Timing

Poojas are ideally performed during brahma muhurta (before sunrise), morning, or evening. Avoid performing poojas during Rahu Kalam.

Sankalpa

Always begin with a sankalpa — a mental resolve stating your name, gotra, and the purpose of the pooja. This dedicates the ritual to the deity.
